Prayer for Freedom of the Armenian Prisoners

Published on
March 6, 2025

On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, during the Peace and Rest Vespers, a special prayer was offered for the freedom of Armenian prisoners.

We were honoured to welcome The Very Rev. Fr. Elias Kiredjian and Rev. Fr. Hayg Shahinian from St. Gregory Armenian Catholic Church, Pastor Zohrab Sarkissian of the Armenian Evangelical Church, and Mr. Hagop Janbazian, Chair of the Armenian Interdenominational Committee. Joining in this meaningful service were Rev. Fr. Hayari Tanashian, our deacons, and acolytes, as we lifted our voices in prayer together.

The sermon of the day was delivered by Rev. Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian, Diocesan Vicar and Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Armenian Church. He spoke about the true essence of freedom—one that comes from faith and a deep connection with our Lord. He reminded us to remain united, hopeful, and in solidarity, trusting that through faith, we find true liberation.

May our prayers bring strength and hope to those in need.
