His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visit to Ontario

On August 30, 2015, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimian, the Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church Canadian Diocese, accompanied by Rev. Archpriest Zareh Zargarian, the Pastor of Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Toronto, and Mr. Ohan Ohanessian, Chairperson of the Parish Council of Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Toronto, on occasion of the first Apostolic visit to Ontario of His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and all the East and Supreme Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church, attended the ceremony of consecration of St. Barsaumo Church conducted by His Holiness Aphrem II in Markham, Ontario. His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimian greeted His Holiness Aphrem II on behalf of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, and offered to His Holiness Aphrem II a cross-stone.

The same day, the delegation of the Armenian Diocese of Canada attended the official reception in honor of the First Apostolic Visit of His Holiness Aphrem II to Ontario. The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of National Defence, and Minister for Multiculturalism of Canada, His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins, Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto, and other representatives of sister-churches as well attended these outstanding events.
