The Holy Nativity and the New Year are just around the corner and as we are getting ready for the festivities, we remember our brothers and sisters in Christ in our prayers and extend helping hands to those in need.

The Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Toronto is part of the organizing committee working on a special prayer service for the Syrian refugees. Rev. Damian MacPherson, Director for Ecumenical and Interfaith Affairs at the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto has invited the members of this committee to meetings in the past couple of months. The purpose of these gatherings is to plan an Ecumenical Prayer Service in Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches’ tradition for refugees during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

Deacon Nurhan Ipekcyan represented Rev. Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian in these meetings. The group worked on finalizing the details of the service that will take place on January 24, 2016 at 4:00PM. Father Niaz Toma and his Parish will be hosting the event at Good Shepherd Chaldean Catholic Church in Toronto. The Holy Trinity Armenian Church’s Choir is invited to participate in the service.
