It was truly an honour to witness the approval of Bill 167 by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario on December 11, 2024. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to MPP Tom Rakocevic for proposing this important bill, which designates the seven-day period starting on Orthodox Easter Sunday each year as Orthodox Christian Week.
I also want to extend my sincere thanks to MPP Aris Babikian for his unwavering support in the passage of this bill, as well as for the kind invitation and acknowledgment. This recognition marks a significant milestone in celebrating and honoring the contributions of the Orthodox Christian community in Ontario. Together, we are fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of our diverse cultural heritage. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the clergy and faithful of all the Orthodox Churches in Ontario.
