KAMAL GEORGE GARABET'S BRIEF BIOGRAPHYIt is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Kamal (George) Garabet on July 15, 2021 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.He was the second youngest of 7 siblings; Rosemary, Jamila, Shamo, Melina, Harbia, Nouri and Fuad. Born in Bagdad, Iraq on June 3, 1938, he immigrated to Canada in 1966.Kamal’s pride was his work at NCR and Bell Canada before starting his own fire safety business over 45 years ago in which he was still actively engaged.It was his mission to support all of his family back in Iraq and in Canada. Being with all of his family near and far brought him happiness and he loved seeing or hearing from them. He always had kind works to say and a smile on his face, telling jokes no matter where he went. His true enjoyment was making people laugh.His passion was sharing opportunities with the people of Armenia though the Armenian Tree Project, which he contributed to them right from the beginning. Whether visiting their nursery in Karin or sitting in his backyard garden, he appreciated being surrounded by nature.He is survived by his wife Marigold, two daughters Diane and Angela Garabet, and extended loved family around the world. He has done so much for his friends, family, and touched the hearts of so many others that is truly his legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made.
