DIRAMAYR SIRVART ZAMROUTIANDiramayr Sirvart was born on February 21, 1921, in Marash, Turkey in the family of Karapet and Mari Mikaelian. She was the second oldest of the six children. Her older sister Nvart, and two younger brothers Sarkis and Harout preceeded her in death. She is survived by her two sisters Zvart and her husband Harout Serardarian of Lebanon, and youngest sister Manoushag of Lebanon. In 1952, she was married to Sarkis Zamroutian (who proceeded her in death) and was blessed with three children: Hagop, Krikor (Hayr Sasoon) and Vartouhy. Hagop is married to Carole and Vartouhy to Robert Baghdassarian of Paris. Among the surviving family members are her grandchildren: Jacques and Emmanuel Baghdassarian of France, Michael and Sylvie of Toronto. She is also survived by nephews and nieces Karo of Cleveland, Raffi and his wife Salpi of Montreal and Vatche and his wife Taline Mikaelian of Lebanon; Marie of Lebanon; Vazken and his wife Dzovinar Mikaelian of Los Angeles and Taline Mikaelian and her husband Harout of Montreal; Zabel Zakaryan and her husband Tomas of Los Angeles, and Anahit Zakaryan of Los Angeles; Vickie Garabedian of Lebanon, Maral Garabedian and her husband Apo of LosAngeles, Vicken Grabedian and his fiance Suzy of Lebanon. She is also survived by many great grand children and children of her nephiews and nieces. Diramayr Sirvart was affectionately known as the “Hreshtak Mokqur or Hokqur” by her nephews and nieces. She is also known as the “prayerful” Diramayr by many who came to know her in the Armenian communities of Fresno, California and Phiadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was called to her eternal rest on the feast day of “the presentation of the Lord to the Temple” Diarnntarach (Valentine) and will be interned on her 88th birthday Satuday, February 21, 2009. The family request that all “in lieu of flower” donations be made to HOLY TRINITY ARMENIAN CHURCH inToronto, Canada.
