Special Event dedicated to 100th Anniversary of Armenian Genocide

On Sunday, January 25, 2015, Rev. Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian, Pastor of Holy Trinity Armenian Church accompanied by Mr. Ohan Ohanessian, the Parish Council Chairman attended the event dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in “Catch the Fire” worship centre in Toronto.

In his speech, Fr. Zargarian thanked “One Free World International” and Rev. Majed El Shafie for organizing the event and for the invitation. He offered a memorial prayer for the departed souls of one and a half million Armenian martyrs of the 2015 genocide.The speakers of the day were His Excellency Armen Yeganian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Canada and The Honourable Mr. Jason Kenny, Minister of Employment and Social Development and Minister for Multiculturalism.Over 1000 attendees along with Armenian community members participated in this unique event representing different Christian faith groups, Kurdish, Yazidi, Ismaili communities. Rev. Hakan Taştan, from Istanbul was present and extended apologies on behalf of the Turkish people for the Armenian Genocide.
