Service of the Washing of the Feet

Maundy Thursday is dedicated to the Last Supper of our Lord Jesus Christ and the institution of the Holy Communion. In the morning, the Divine Liturgy is celebrated in our churches. Following the evening service, the deeply meaningful Service of the Washing of the Feet takes place.
In a powerful expression of humility, Christ washed the feet of His disciples after the Last Supper (John 13:1–16). Following His example, Rev. Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian knelt before the altar and washed the feet of twelve boys, anointing them with blessed oil, reminding us of the call to serve one another with love and humility.
Later that evening, a solemn service ushers in the remembrance of Good Friday, reflecting on the suffering, Crucifixion, Death, and Burial of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Gospel readings recall His prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, His betrayal and arrest, and the denial of Peter.
