Holy Trinity Armenian Church held its 11th annual Golf Tournament on Sunday September 27, 2015 at Silver Lakes Golf and Conference Centre. Players arrived to a welcoming registration table followed by lunch and the opportunity to warm up at the range and putting green. The weather cooperated to ensure that all golfers had an enjoyable venue for their round. The day’s round was followed by dinner while silent auction items were available for bidding by all participants.
This year a new committee took on the challenge of raising funds for renovations and upgrades to the Church building. The committee was composed of Anne Ohanessian, Serena Kurkjian, Alex Satouri and the new chairperson, Hagop Dokmecian counseled by Masis Afarian who chaired the tournament successfully for 10 years. During its lifetime the HTAC Golf Tournament has raised over ¼ of a million dollars for the church. The committee and Parish Council would like to thank all the players, Silver Lakes Golf Club and most of all its sponsors who faithfully back the Golf Tournament year in and year out.
The Parish Priest, Fr. Zareh Zargarian, and Chairman of Parish Council, Ohan Ohanessian have been supporting the HTAC Annual Golf Tournament from the beginning. This year, they could not be present at the tournament as they were leading a group of pilgrims to Armenia and attended the Blessing of Holy Chrism Ceremony on the same day, which happens every seven years. Fr. Zargarian sent his congratulations to the committee and appreciated their devotion to making this a successful event.
