We hereby announce to our faithful that, with the blessings of His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimian, Primate of the Armenian Church Diocese, and the invitation of Rev. Fr. Arch. Zareh Zargarian, Pastor of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church of Toronto and the Parish Council, Deacon Artur Vardanyan will be taking the role of musical director of the church starting April 1, 2022.
We congratulate Deacon Artur for the services he will be rendering to our church and wish him all the best in his mission in praise of God and the wellbeing of our holy church.

Արթուր Սարկաւագ Վարդանյան ծնած է Երեւան։ Ուսումը ստացած է Երեւանի Կոմիտասի անուան պետական երաժշտանոցի վոքալ-տեսական բաժանմունքէն 2003-2008 թուականներուն, ստանալով «Ակադեմական երգեցողութեան մագիստրոս, Օփերային եւ համերգային երգիչ, Դասատու» որակաւորումը։
Հայոց բանակին զինուորական պարտադիր ծառայութենէն ետք, 2010-2014 թուականներուն ուսումը շարունակած է Մայր Աթոռ Ս. Էջմիածնի Գէորգեան ճեմարանին մէջ, ստանալով «Աստուածաբանութեան մագիստրոս» որակաւորումը։
2012 թուականին, Բարձրաշնորհ Տ. Գէորգ եպս. Սարոյանի ձեռամբ ձեռնադրուած է սարկաւագ։
Շուրջ չորս տարիներ եղած է Մայր Աթոռ Ս. Էջմիածնի միաբան, Մայր Տաճարի Ձախակողմեան դասի դասապետ, զբաղուած է հայ հոգեւոր երաժշտութեան ուսումնասիրութեամբ։ Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ. Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի Հայրապետական տնօրինութեամբ, Գէորգեան Հոգեւոր Ճեմարանէն ներս դասաւանդած է «Եկեղեցական երաժշտութիւն» եւ «Սոլֆէժ». եղած է Ճեմարանի մշակութային միջոցառումներու/ձեռնարկներու համակարգող, ինչպէս նաեւ՝ «Սարկաւագական պետական քննութեան» յանձնախումբի մշտական անդամ։
Հիմնադրած եւ երեք տարիներ ղեկավարած է Գէորգեան Հոգեւոր Ճեմարանի «Էջմիածին» երգչախումբը: Խմբավարութեան եւ ուսանողական երգչախումբերու հետ աշխատանքին առընթեր մասնաւոր դասեր ստացած է ՀՀ արուեստի վաստակաւոր գործիչ՝ մայեսթրօ Ռուբէն Ասատրյանէն։
Որպէս երգիչ աշխատած է «Հայաստանի պետական ակադեմիական», «Հայ հոգեւոր երաժշտութեան պետական կեդրոնի արական», Նոր Նորքի Ս. Սարգիս եւ Երեւանի Ս. Գրիգոր Լուսաւորիչ Մայր եկեղեցւոյ երգչախումբերուն հետ։ Մեներգային խմբերգային կատարումներով ելոյթներ ունեցած է համերգային տարբեր միջոցառումներու եւ օփերային ներկայացումներու ժամանակ։
2005 թուականին հիմնադրած է Երեւանի Ս. Գրիգոր Լուսաւորիչ Մայր եկեղեցւոյ երիտասարդաց եւ մանկանց միութիւնները եւ մինչեւ 2008 թուական եղած է անոնց ատենապետը։
2018-2022 թուականներուն, Երուսաղէմի Հայոց Պատրիարք՝ Ամենապատիւ Տ. Նուրհան Արք. Մանուկյանի հրաւէրով ստանձնած է Երուսաղէմի Հայոց Պատրիարքութեան դպրապետի պաշտօնը, Երուսաղէմի Ժառանգաւորաց վարժարան-ընծայարանին մէջ դասաւանդած է «Եկեղեցական երաժշտութիւն», «Շարականագիտութիւն» եւ «Գրաբար»: Ղեկավարած է ուսանողական երգչախումբը։
Brief Biography
Deacon Artur Vardanyan was born in Yerevan. He attended the Yerevan Komitas Conservatory and graduated from the vocal-theoretical subdivision (2003-2008), receiving his MA in “Academic Singing, as an Opera and choral singer, Teacher”.
After completing his compulsory service in the army, he continued his education at the Gevorgian Theological Seminary between 2010 and 2014 and received his Master’s degree in Theology.
In 2012 he was ordained deacon by His Grace Arch. Kevork Saroyan.
For about four years he was a monk (friar?) of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin,
the choir master of the Holy Cathedral and was involved in the study of liturgical music. By the ordinance of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, he taught ‘Liturgical Music’ and ‘solfege’ at the Gevorgian Theological Seminary. He was also the coordinator of the cultural events of the Seminary, as well as a permanent member of the “Official Exams for Deaconate” committee.
He established the ‘Etchmiadzin’ choir of the Gevorgian Theological Seminary. Along his work as conductor, he followed special courses with Maestro Rouben Asatrian, renowned artist of the Armenian Republic.
He has been a member of the following choirs: Armenian State Academic, State Centre of Armenian Spiritual Music, St. Sarkis Church of Nor Nork and St. Gregory the Illuminator Church. He has participated as a soloist and a choir member in many choral presentations, including operatic works.
In 2005 he established the youth and children’s committees of the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Yerevan. He was its chairperson until 2008.
During the 2018-2022 years and at the invitation of His Beatitude Abp. Nourhan Manougian, the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, he became the choirmaster. He also taught ‘Ecclesiastical Music’, ‘Hymns’ and Grabar ‘Old Armenian’ at the Armenian Theological Seminary of Jerusalem. He was the conductor of the students’ choir.
