St. Sahag & St. Mesrob Saturday School Christmas & New Year Celebration Minimize

On Saturday December 22, 2007 the students of St. Sahag & St. Mesrob Saturday School celebrated Christmas and New Years.  The day started with students receiving Holy Communion from the Holy Trinity Armenian Church Pastor, Rev. Arch. Father Zareh Zargarian.  Following the ceremony the students gathered at the Magaros Artinian Hall.  After an opening speech, our Principal Mrs. Sonia Kradjian invited the Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 students on stage, and the festive mood was heightened as students with their very well prepared jolly hats sang Armenian and English Christmas carols under the direction of the music teacher Mrs. Meline Afian.

The Grade 3 students also participated with songs and poems. The youngest of the young, the Nursery, Junior and Senior Kindergarten students, then took on the stage and participated by singing Christmas carols.  The stage was appropriately decorated with the Nativity scene by Mrs. Seta MacLennan.  After Father Zareh blessed the tables, food that was prepared by our Board of Trustees was distributed to the kids.  Then students took to the dance floor and danced in a cheerful ambience. The highlight of the party was the visit by Santa Claus. Festivities continued until all students received their token gifts and took photos with Santa.  A very well organized event indeed!   See photos...

Annual Church Picnic Minimize

Holy Trinity Armenian Church Annual Picnic took place on Sunday, June 22, 2008. This event was dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of this parish.

Despite the nice weather in earlier hours of the day, the parish council members who organized this event, decided to have the gathering at church instead of the park. We enjoyed both outdoors and indoors. It was a wise decision considering the afternoon’s heavy rain.

Rev. Archpriest Zareh Zargarian held the Morning Service after which everyone gathered in “Magaros Artinian” Hall or outside the church where the tables, chairs and tents were set up nicely. After some sunny hours the rain started forcing everyone to take refuge inside the church hall.

The Women's Guild members went out of their way preparing and serving homemade delicious appetizers, salads and deserts. Hot & fresh barbeque served straight from the grill, live music performed by Hrant Ketenjian and Grigor Shahmuradian. Singing, raffle and games for children kept everyone happy and busy for the whole afternoon.

This was another great event organized by our wonderful group of volunteers. Special thanks to our energetic, hardworking and fun parish council and women’s guild members. Without their dedicated and heartfelt work this day would not be as successful and enjoyable as it was. See the photos…

ACYOC Ski Trip 2008 Minimize

Both the Junior and Senior A.C.Y.O.C Ski trips of 2008 were very successful, filled with unforgettable memories. This year, with both trips combined, about 60-65 Armenian youth between the ages of 14-25 attended. A.C.Y.O.C has made it a tradition to hold this memorable event every year. The trips include a two-night stay in a chalet in Tyrolean Village where the youth are able to create new friends and have a fantastic time. The outdoor skiing and snowboarding gave everyone plenty of memories and laughs that they will remember for a lifetime. Everyone used the weekend to relax and get away before returning to their busy lives at home.

By the time Sunday rolled around nobody wanted to leave, we all became one great big Armenian family. The purpose of having the ski trips was to unite Armenian youth and create everlasting memories and friendships. Many thanks go the Holy Trinity Armenian Church for their support, the Jr. and Sr. A.C.Y.O.C committees for their hard work, dedication and passion, and to all the youth who attended. Without these factors, the trips would not have been as successful as they were. We hope to see you all next year, and many more to join us!

The primary purpose of the committee would be to organize social and cultural events of various natures. So tune in for more events from “Hayrenik” as it will always call you and need you – no matter in sadness or happiness!

Church Secretary Diana Bogosyan, assisted by Parish Council Treasurer John Satouri, accepted membership dues and counted dues-paid members at the door.  It must be noted that this was the first time that “debit” and credit cards were utilized to ease the payment process, and the first time that the reports handout was professionally cerlox-bound.  Quorum was noted at 108 members present at the opening of the meeting.
