Sunday School’s Christmas Party 2009

On Dec 19 – 2009, Holy Trinity Armenian Church Sunday School had a Christmas party for the children and either family members at the “Magaros Artinian” Hall. The Christmas party was organized by the Sunday School teachers and devoted parents. It was an encouraging party that filled the hall with energetic and enthusiastic families, children, and new comers to Canada who were introduced to us by Armenian Family Support Services.

More than 60 kids filled the place and they spent their time throughout different activities such as decorating cup cakes, the Christmas Tree, and creating Christmas card crafts. The story “Jesus Christ’s Birthday” was read and was an educating lesson both for the parents and the children. They told Santa Clause jokes, were given the Fruit of the Spirit, and also played musical chairs.

Food tables were prepared with an abundance of different types of food, desserts, and fruits. Everyone had a good time, snacking and socializing. However, the most fun and unexpected part of the night was the arrival of Santa Clause himself.

With Christmas songs being sung by everyone in the crowd, Santa Clause entrance involved dancing, clapping, and smiling by all. The children were extremely happy and each of them received a bag of goodies and a present. One can imagine how happy the children were from their faces.

Everybody left the party in a great mood, shaking hands and benevolently giving their best wishes for Christmas and New Years.

Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church

Sunday School Opening

On Sunday, Sept.13, 2009 it was the Sunday of the Feast of the Exaltation of The Holy Cross and the opening of Sunday School.
It was a beautiful day and our students received a warm welcome from the teachers and volunteers. The school started with the Lord’s Prayer following with the Sunday School’s anthem and “sharagans”.

The students learned about the Holy Cross Day and the history behind the festive day after which everyone received Holy Communion.

We followed our tradition of celebrating the summer time bithdays. The Sunday School students were each given a cross decorated with tricolour ribbons representing the Armenian flag. We entered the church to participate in “tapor”.

On Sunday, Sept. 20th, Sunday School students celebrated the 18th Anniversary of the

Independence of Armenia.  They learned about the history of Independence, the flag, and

historic places of our land Armenia.

Some of our graduated students were representatives of Sunday School who joined their friends from St. Sahag St. Mesrop Armenian Saturday School and AGBU’s Zaroukian Armenian Day School to participate in the blessing of the Armenian Flag ceremony.

Happy Anniversary to our Motherland Armenia

God Bless you and Best wishes From Sunday School

We gladly acknowledge that Armenian parents have always understood the importance of their children’s Christian education. We encourage all parents to take advantage of this unique opportunity by guiding their children’s footsteps to church and enlisting them in the school. The church and the school go hand in hand to provide a healthy atmosphere for the child to grow in reverence towards God Almighty and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; to develop a keen sense of belonging to the Holy Mother Church; and to get acquainted with Armenian peers, many of whom will become their lifelong friends; and develop to become productive citizens with a strong foundation in their Armenian heritage and identity.

All children of ages 3-14 are welcome to attend the Sunday School. The school registration has always remained free of charge. The school welcomes with open arms all Armenian children regardless of whether they are familiar with the Armenian language or not. A group of dedicated volunteer teachers carry on the school’s sacred mission. Please do not miss this opportunity for your children’s Christian Armenian education.

The school resumes annually on the Sunday of the Holy Cross, which is the Sunday closest to September 14. The school registration starts a week prior to that at the church, and continues throughout the academic year.

For further enquiries please contact church office at: 416-431-3001.
