Diocesan Delegates Minimize

Since 1984, members of the parishes elect Diocesan Delegates of the Canadian Diocese for a period of three years during the Annual General Assembly.
Elected Diocesan Delegates represent their parishes at the Annual Diocesan Assembly by presenting the concerns of the latter. It is this same Assembly that elects the Primate of the Diocese of Canada for a period of five years and the Diocesan Council for a period of four years, as an executive body that receives its mandate from the Diocesan Assembly and is accountable to it The Diocesan Delegates' Assembly is the highest church authority of the Diocese of Canada.

The delegates are expected to take part in at least one executive group of their parish. They are expected to be aware of the concerns of the parish and participate in parish meetings in order to be able to better represent their electors and make necessary suggestions during the Annual Diocesan Assembly.
