OBJECTIVE

The Endowment Fund was established in 1998 by the initiative and the vision of our Pastor Rev. Archpriest Zareh Zargarian and the Parish Council of the same year, supported by the generosity and dedication of members of our community with the objective to build a permanent and growing fund to ensure the longevity of our Church and its programs in our community. Donations made to the Endowment Fund would be allocated to those programs in accordance with the wishes of the individual donors and the income generated by those donations would be applied to those specific programs.

A donation of $10,000 or more establishes a permanent fund in the name of the donor or in memory of a loved one. Donors can designate specific a program which will benefit from the yearly income of such funds.

Our “Tree of Life”, the symbol of the Endowment Fund, identifies our generous donors, their commitment to the growth of our Church and community by leaving their legacy for their loved ones, friends and generations to come.

HOW IT WORKS

The Endowment Fund is managed by a Board of Trustees whose members are elected at the Annual General Membership meeting and it is their responsibility to oversee the administration of the Endowment Fund in accordance with the Endowment Fund By-Laws and Investment Policies.

PROGRAMS USING THE FUNDS

The current programs within the Endowment fund are categorized as:

The General Fund
Saturday/Sunday School Fund
Humanitarian/Seniors Fund
CYMA Fund
Education Fund

HOW THE ENDOWMENT FUND PORTFOLIO IS MANAGED

With an Endowment, the funds are conservatively invested with a view to preserving the capital, and only 75% of the annual income is available to support its specific program. The balance, 25% of the annual income, is retained and added to the capital of the specific program.

Planned giving offers an opportunity to establish an eternal legacy in your name or in your loved ones name, providing and ensuring the future of our Church and its related programs for our children and grandchildren for generations to come.

HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE BY PLANNED GIVING

There are a number of options available for you to contribute to the Endowment Fund. While Estate Planning allows you the advantage of providing a contribution at a later date, the most common immediate donation is cash. However in recent years, other forms of giving has become popular. Therefore, Planned Giving options include:

Giving Cash
Bequest in a Will

- Leaving RRSPs/RRIFs

Giving Property
Gifts of Life Insurance

- Leaving the Proceeds of a Life Insurance Policy

- Gifts of Current or New Life Insurance Policies

- Charitable Gift Annuity

Giving through a Foundation
Real Estate
Securities (Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, etc)

Of course, an official charitable donation tax receipt will be issued for each gift assessed at Fair Market Value. However, gifting of securities may be the best return on your donation.
